This river is a little spooky in it’s beauty. The Chatooga borders Georgia, North Carolina and the very north west corner of South Carolina. I like to visit it in the winter as there are little to no people and you have the water all to yourself. At the same time, you feel isolated and very lonely.

The mighty Chatooga river is the dividing point for Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. It is also filmed for the infamous movie, “Deliverance”. I love this place as it is very scenic and rather wild when the water is moving through. I went white water kayaking for the first time and was “baptized” when I tipped in class 2 rapids. Oh well. This is Burrel’s ford and I camped out there over a weekend. It’s also known for fly fishing.
