Toronto, Jarvis and King

This is one of the oldest parts of town and it’s right near the St. Lawrence Market. I still struggle with drawing cars but I’ve learned to start with ovals and that helps get the gist.

Thanks Margaret for the comment. I draw from direct observation and this sketch was from a cafe with a nice big window seat. When I am refining a sketch I will tend to use a combination of on location sketching and photos especially when it comes to the great details of urban landscapes. But the foundation should always be with direct observation as the eye is a much better lens than any camera.
