Briars, the Verandah

I made another visit to the Verandah to draw my summer version.  I’ll try another in the fall.

First major snow fall of the year, Dec 29th 2012.  Watercolors are great for travel but the water starts to freeze and you have to be fast with the brush.  My Ipad would short out in snow fall so I could not risk it.  I came back inside to additional details with adding opaque white to create more contrast.

Here’s a digital sketch I did one year ago when it was much more milder and from 180 degrees on the other side…
